ReadGates began as a place to read online. We’re now exploring something you can hold: an electronic bookmark that brings a little assistance to paper books, with a companion app for your reading notes.
A word opens a world.

We’re designing a small, deliberate interaction: a wake phrase, a question, then back to reading.
We plan to evaluate Picovoice Porcupine for on-device wake-word detection. The prototype will explore how the bookmark and a companion app work together, including microphone placement, accidental activations, and power use.
Hardware, voice features, and integrations are under development. This is an independent ReadGates concept; no Picovoice partnership or certification is implied.
